ING Direct: Free Checking, No Minimums + Get $50 In Cash

Free Summer Events & Activities 2012

There are always a ton of free things that you can do with your family in the summer. This years events are starting to pop up so I thought I would list a few that we have now so you can keep your family entertained for free!

Here they are:

-Kids Bowl Free: Children whose age does not exceed a limit by a participating bowling center are eligible to register for 2 free games a day, all summer long. Go here to see if a bowling center in your area is participating and to sign up!

-AMF is offering a free bowling pass for kids 15 and under so they can bowl for FREE all summer long!

-Brunswick Zone is offering your kids 12 and under 1 free game of bowling everyday when you sign up for the Brunswick Bowling Zone! Go here to find a location near you!

-Apple Retail Stores Youth Workshops

-National Parks Free Fee Weekends: June 9th, September 29, November 10th – 12th

-Bank of America Card Holders, Free Museum Weekends: The first weekend every month.

Reading Programs

Barnes & Noble: Summer Reading Program! *They are bringing back the program for 2012 however they have not released the full details yet. I will update you when they do.

Half Price Books: Feed Your Brain kicks off June 3rd.  Read 600 minutes or more and turn in your completed June form by July 3rd and July form by August 5th to get a $5 Back to School Bucks reading reward.

Chuck E Cheese: Reading Rewards. Your child can earn 10 free tokens every time they read everyday for 2 full weeks. Print your Reading Rewards Calendar then bring it with you to Chuck E Cheese for redemption.

Scholastic Summer Challenge Kids create an online account and keep track of their reading minutes to earn prizes. As they complete weekly reading challenges on the site, they can spin the Prize Wheel to win digital prizes like book & audio chapters and virtual badges. There are also sweepstakes that kids can enter after logging minutes.

iVillage PBS KIDS Summer Reading Community Challenge launches June 18. You’ll get daily emails with literacy-building tips and activities from experts at PBS KIDS and Scholastic. You’ll also get book suggestions and discounts, free downloads of PBS KIDS shows and a daily chance to win $1,000 and other great prizes.

Sylvan Book Adventure: offers a free reading incentive program where kids read books, take a comprehension quiz about how much they remember and earn points based on how well they did on the quiz. They can then redeem those points for prizes.

Pottery Barn Kids May 17- August 22
Children receive a prize after completing the recommended reading list featuring award-winning titles. Visit your local store starting May 17th to participate. You’ll get a bookmark to take home with you listing all the required reading titles. Once you’ve got those checked off, return to your local Pottery Barn Kids and they’ll have a basket of books that your child can choose from.

HEB has a Summer Reading Club (Texas Only) each year.  When your child has read 10 books, you complete the form (before 10/31/12) and mail it in to HEB for a prize pack.  They ask for your child’s t-shirt size, so the prize pack must include a shirt (my kids did this a few years ago and did get a shirts, along with some stickers and other stuff).

St. Louis

St. Louis Public Library’s Summer Reading Club 2012: Registration has begun sign up early, and earn prizes. This year’s themes are “Baby Dreamers” for babies, “Dream Big Read!!” for youngsters and “Own the Night” for teens.

Report Card Rewards 2012

It’s summer which means that many of our kids our officially out of school and it’s time to reward them for their hard work! Here’s a list of some fun Report Card Rewards that you can take advantage of.

Blockbuster is giving away a free movie rental for good grades!

Interstate Brands Companies, provides a Student Achievement Award and a sweet reward from their bakery outlets!

Incredible Pizza: Trades For Grades program
Straight A’s = $6 gamecard credit
A’s and B’s= $4 gamecard credit
Improved Grades from last report card=$3 gamecard credit

Limited Too - Bring your report card in, within 30 days and receive $5 off your total purchase.

Chuck E. Cheese - Bring your report card and receive up to 15 free tokens per child, you must make a food purchase to receive the tokens.

Family Video - Free video rental for A’s, must bring in the final report card and rent your video in the summer.

Baskin Robbins – Free scoop for good grades

Sbarro’s – Free slice of pizza for A’s & B’s

Topps - Bring your report card in, show the manager for a free trading card.

Wendys- Receive a special treat for good grades.

Krispy Kreme – Free doughnut for an A – up to 6.

Pizza Hut – Three A’S Program, each marking period, any child who has 3 A’s or the equivalent thereof, will receive one Personal Pan Pizza and a small soft drink or carton of milk by presenting his or her report card to the manager. This offer is good for Elementary and Middle School students. Dine-in only. Student must be present and the original report card must be presented. Available at participating locations.

Of course these are all subject to change and can vary by location so call ahead before you go.
